      Need Assessment

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Team at Fiinovation conducts need assessments to understand the key issues and challenges in the targeted project areas or communities. The findings of the assessment are used to develop projects and solutions and plan suitable interventions that relate to the thematic and site-specific needs of the community. Fiinovation CSR Consultancy, in its 11 year journey has partnered with corporations like Godrej and Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd, Mytrah Energy India Pvt. Ltd., IL&FS and many other corporations to conduct such assessment studies.

      Baseline Assessment

Baseline study provides current status of socio-economic as well as environmental conditions prevalent in the project areas before implementation of a development project or Corporate Social Responsibility intervention. It also facilitates comparison of the achievements of the programme in the backdrop of the initial conditions. Fiinovation has conducted baseline assessments for numerous corporations. Special mention may be made about the baseline assessment in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh which helped Mytrah Energy India Pvt. Ltd. in aligning their intervention for the maximum benefit of the communities.

      Mid-term Assessment

Mid-line study explores and analyses the key socio-economic indicators in the middle of a project or CSR intervention being implemented. It evaluates those indicators and helps in collating recommendations for course correction or any changes in alignment with the established goals of the intervention. Fiinovation CSR Consultancy has conducted Mid-term assessments in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh for Laurus Labs and IL&FS Skills in Barmer in Rajasthan and for many other corporations.

      End-line Assessment

End-line study is done at the end of a project or intervention. It is aimed at measuring the outcome by comparing it with the baseline scenario. The study is useful in quantifying the output from the project intervention. Fiinovation has successfully conducted end-line assessment for Bharti Infratel and other corporations as part of the M&E portfolio.

      Impact Assessment

Impact assessment helps in mapping the changes brought by the project intervention. Impacts may be measured at an individual level and community level and can be used to assess the short-term changes and the long-term changes as well. Fiinovation has conducted impact assessment studies in the sectors of Skill, Education, Health and Livelihood for corporations such as RSDC, Laurus Labs, HFCL, JK Tyre & Industries, Arohan Financial Services Pvt. Ltd., Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd, Newgen Software Technologies Ltd, Pipavav Railway Corporation Ltd, and many more.

      Social Return On Investment

Social Return on Investment (SROI) is an approach that measures the amount of impact created by an organization or an intervention on the socio-economic and environmental aspects of the stakeholders against the cost/effort incurred by the organization. It is a way through which an organization can align its interventions for the greater good of the people and the stakeholders who benefit out of such interventions. Unlike the impact assessment exercises, SROI has a larger coverage of the value that an intervention has created for the beneficiaries it was meant for.

      Perception Study

In order to know how the targeted beneficiaries interpret and view the CSR interventions and development projects, a perception study is carried out. The study can help in understanding how beneficial the interventions were in meeting the communities’ expectations and how it can be improved in the future. Fiinovation has conducted perception study for CESC and many other corporations.

      Feasibility Study

To examine whether a proposed CSR intervention is practical in actual case, a feasibility study is conducted. A feasibility study may consider all the relevant factors like financial, technical, managerial, political and legal aspects to assess the likelihood of successful project implementation.

      Socio-Economic Study

Socio-economic study is carried out to get the information on social and economic condition of the targeted community for the intervention. The information on social condition can include age, education, gender, family size, religion/caste etc. whereas economic condition includes information on household and individual income, livelihood patterns, sources of income, monthly expenditure etc. Socio-economic study enables the project developers to understand the baseline situation and/or impact of an implemented project. Fiinovation has conducted socio-economic study for various corporations including Mytrah Energy India Pvt. Ltd. at 30 villages in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu.

      Skill Gap Analysis

Identifying essential skills relevant to a job role is a basic prerequisite for all sectors to perform well. Through skill gap analysis the shortfall in the skill requirement is identified, which helps the corporations to provide necessary training to bridge the skill gap. Fiinovation partnered with the Rubber Skill Development Council for a skill gap analysis for the workers involved in the natural rubber production in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Fiinovation has conducted skill gap analysis for numerous other corporations as well.
