A well established railway corporation commissioned Fiinovation to execute a third party impact assessment of their CSR initiative at Raska village, Limbdi block, Surendranagar District, Gujarat. The intervention focused on installing 100 bio-toilets at the household level. With a keen intent to know the impact of the CSR project, the railway corporation commissioned Fiinovation to conduct an in-depth impact study. As the bio-toilets were implemented in three phases, Fiinovation adopted Systematic Random Sampling (SRS) technique for each of the phases to design the sample size and accordingly, identified households were interviewed. Control group interviews have been conducted to compare the effects of bio-toilet vis-a-vis the houses still engaged in open defecation.
