Fiinovation partnered with the largest producers of zippers for clothing in the country to assess the needs of communities in 20 villages of Bawal in Rewari district of Haryana so that interventions benefitting them could be planned. All the study villages were located in close proximity to the plant location of the corporate. Stakeholders like community members, women, youth, men and other resource persons were interacted with during the study. Managing the disposal of household wastes emerged to be a prime concern in almost all the villages followed by the need of a community RO facility. Many of the villages also lacked health infrastructure and were not well connected with the nearby towns making access to health care facilities a arduous task. As a way forward, programmatic interventions have also been suggested to the donor.
